Me: They printed hundreds of thousands, millions of billions, billions of trillions, of pieces of paper and called it "money", we then (the people) accepted the idea. Now, that's inflation. So, yeah, the government is the culprit here.
Either way it was the government (or at least some collection of governments). Saying the pandemic disrupted supply lines is just a euphemism for government lockdowns.
