So I had an article in Bulgarian than I translated into English so I can post it here but one user made me think that perhaps this is not the best place for long articles. After all, the only options when adding a post are "link", "discussion" and "poll".
So my question is - what content type is the best for SN and what is preferred by its users?
Links to news and other posts18.2%
Jokes/memes11.4%
Discussions 34.1%
Inline original content22.7%
Anything13.6%
44 votes \ poll ended
Definitely not memes.
reply
I like to hear discussions on applications, set ups and security
reply
I think most people want original content and discussions
reply
Voted "discussions". Podcasts/Substack are great, this is the missing link for shorter-form discussion. Every other platform is compromised by propagandists.
reply
Even I didn't vote for "inline original content" but it would have been my vote after "discussions"

Content I like on SN:
  • AMAs
  • Projects people are working on
  • How-to guides
  • General news
Stuff I find boring or not useful:
  • Memes
  • Price speculation
It would be cool to see more developers and OGs use this place.

We need topics or easier way to distinguish threads.

Anything but a post/comment by moneroshill. It's getting a little tedious to have to read their "Bitcoin mining is doomed" "bitcoin will eventually fail" posts over and over.
K00b doesn't want to implement a blocking function, because he thinks "free and open discussion without censorship is the best way people learn" but I feel like I'm getting dumber everytime I read something by moneroshill.

I do want you to be able to mute people. What I don't want is to ban people.
I'm sorry that I can't do this as fast as you'd like.
reply
I never said to ban someone, I said to block someone - which is the exact same thing as muting.
And no problem on the length of time it is taking, I was simply quoting what you said during the Bitcoin Freedom Day live chat, which seemed (to me) to give off the impression you are against muting / blocking. Perhaps the quote was taken out of context.

Most people here probably own bitcoin and see it as an investment so i presume most people want to see Bitcoin related news that could be bullish
reply
I would rather see reasonable analysis than a bullish echo chamber.
