I wrote about feeling alive at work before. Today, I felt that fullness of spirit and I can’t wait to share my exhilaration with you guys.
Today was the first day of the English national exam for the graduating students. As the Presiding Examiner, I had to take care of so many things, be it big or small, that I sacrificed two days of my precious September holidays to fulfill them.
The candidates attempted their first paper at four different computer labs, so I had to coordinate the efforts of the Chief Presiding Examiner, invigilators and e-exam supervisors. I also fulfilled various roles, such as pasting seating arrangements and chaperoning students to the washroom.
Basically, being the Presiding Examiner was a thankless task, but before I exerted so much effort, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment by the time everything was over. I learnt that any task that involves substantial Proof of Work will yield immense satisfaction.
Is there any task that you don’t enjoy but derive a sense of satisfaction from?
