I recently launched a website that might be useful for anyone interested in Bitcoin events: bconf.org. It's a simple tool that brings together all the Bitcoin conferences happening around the world in one place.

A few things you can do on the site:

  • Find all upcoming Bitcoin conferences on a global map.
  • Filter by continent or location to see what's happening near you.
  • Submit a conference to be added to the site and help others discover new events.
  • Subscribe to a monthly newsletter to get new and upcoming conferences straight to your inbox, plus potential discounts.

I’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions you might have! Feel free to check it out if you're into Bitcoin events. 😊

Looks awesome! I'm sure these are already on your radar but if they aren't:

  • zoom in/out of the map
  • when I click on a conference on the map, show me the conference and detail about it
  • more info about the conferences

In general, I love how spartan it is. You can't go wrong with NOT overwhelming people, so I would try to maintain that while adding a more info, pictures, and color strategically.

I suspect this will be a nice cashflow business if you keep at it.

I love your feedback @k00b

Map improvements is something I was thinking about, appreciate the details.

Talking about minimalistic style – I couldn't agree more. Keeping things clean and simple not only enhances the user experience but also helps users focus on the key information without any unnecessary distractions. It's definitely a design approach I value and aim to maintain.

Thank you for the input!

Great initiative!

Few thoughts:

Could this be a Nostr client? Users could submit conferences using their Nostr keys and earn zaps? Then the conference info would be available all over Nostr?

A bit like what Satlantis is doing, but conference-specific

reply
Satlantis

are you talking about https://www.satlantis.io ? I registered and seems that I can post to location and add an event. Is it the functionality you're referring to?

reply

Yes. Every city has its own Events page.

reply

hi @teemupleb I will research Nostr integration as this is what people say quite often. Thank you for the valuable input!

reply

Wow I was thinking how great something like this would be just a few weeks ago! I only find out about conferences if come across their live stream on YouTube or if someone mentions so there are many im unaware of, I’m sure other people have the experience so this is very useful! Thank you for building this!

reply

Exactly @ACwithAD! Appreciate your input.

great idea and comprehensive implementation, I'm with it, nice work

the dubai oasis conference is cancelled fyi

reply

hmmm, this should've happened recently as I added it just a few weeks ago. Thanks for letting me know!

reply

India's events should also be listed here.

reply

Absolutely, @Athena! Just tell me what is missed or use https://bconf.org/submit

reply

This is the BitcoinMap of conferences.

Great idea. It increases the chances of accessing planned conferences. Also, knowing that a certain conference will be held on a certain date, we can plan our attendance if we can.

Thanks for this tool. Congratulations

That sounds amazing! Anything that connects people and brings them together, especially around something like Bitcoin, is so cool. I'm sure a lot of people will find it super helpful

appreciate your input @DrStacker

Just some feedback, I'm on an Android phone. The text on the left top corner is not showed right.

And I was not able to apply any filters.

reply

wow, never seen it on Android but I tested it on the phones with wider screens and bigger pixel density. Thank you for reporting this one!

reply

@Bitcoiner1 this should be fixed, could you check one more time, please?

reply

Yes. Now it shows the full text.

reply

talking about the filters - could you clarify what do you mean?

reply

I did not find a way to organize the data by location. It is arranged by default by date.

If I put my phone horizontally, I can see all the text.

Just touch any continent and it will filter the table to show the data only for that location.

If I put my phone horizontally, I can see all the text.

Yep, the table is scrollable though, you can just scroll it horizontally even in default phone orientation.

reply

It's a good idea.

Just wanna confirm.

This one is only for Bitcoin Conferences? Not for meetups, or it is for meetups as well?

reply

hi @Coinsreporter. At this moment in time, this is correct, however, I'm open to feature requests and willing to add the functionality people need. If meetups are something you'd like to see, please let me know!

reply

This one is Bitcoin only not including bLoCKcHaIn, you should add a filter for bitcoin only.

https://planb.network/en/events

reply

Hi @Car. The filter is not needed (at least for now) as all listed conferences are Bitcoin-only. If I accidentally made a mistake, could you please let me know? Also, thank you for the link!

reply

Instantly useful. šŸ‘€ Just found an event that I am booking local to me. This is getting bookmarked. Two suggestions:

  1. When submitting a conference, require some sats to cover your costs and to keep low value spammy submissions away, not that I have seen any - but if this gains (more) traction, it will get hammered.
  2. In addition to email alerts, offer nostr alerts.
reply

added it to my to-do list. makes total sense to me šŸ‘

reply

Looks like a good idea! Will try to add from India if I find one.

Nice job. This is a amazing idea. This site will grow soon.

Really, this is awesome. Nice work!

reply

awesome! I'm more interest in local meetups as i travel. Currently meetup .com is where I look for Satoshi Socials, bitcoin walks, etc. Any plans for adding smaller bitcoin events? pleb events

reply

hi @brian_sabc, the short answer is maybe but not right now as putting smaller events together requires significantly more efforts
