I read a lot of posts from Stackers who I never had a chance to interact. What happened to them? I mean SN is such a great place to be. How could they resist to share their views with us.
It was really different when I joined than it is today. I'm sure some people don't like the ways that it has changed.

I would like to know more on how it was. I wasn't there.

It was completely bitcoin focused and I recall many people objecting to the idea that we broaden out the topics of posts. They were basically arguing that "Stacker News" implied news about Bitcoin, while we were arguing that "Stacker News" meant news for Bitcoiners.
There was still a lot of thoughtful discussion, but not as much as there is now (although there may have been more prior to Million Sat Madness). There were probably more regulars with deep technical Bitcoin knowledge.

The new 'Stacker News' doesn't imply 'Bitcoin News' or does it? I'm sure it implies 'News for Bitcoiners' more. I also think that SN as 'News for Bitcoiners' will be more impactful overall. So, tou think the OGs left because SN has changed to 'News for Bitcoiners'?
reply
I'm sure there are other reasons, but there was a sizeable contingent that wanted it to stay bitcoin only.

'Bitcoin only'! I believe we can't force anyone, we can just set examples that masses would follow. It would have been better had they stayed and keep educating everyone.
SN is still largely 'Bitcoin Only', isn't it? I don't see too much of attention being given to anything else here. If we're seeing some other stuff like sports and music, imho, these are also very important for engagement. The base is sats so, it's always about Bitcoin, it'll always be!
Sadly, the old OGs couldn't get it!
