It is not often that I feel happy about splurging on food, but One Hundred Grains has a novel concept that pushes money out of the equation first.
How so? It piques your interest by tantalising your taste buds with a wide variety of dishes. It then cleverly dissociates payment from the food by letting you know that you will pay based on its weight at the cashier’s. This innovative strategy got me to focus on trying a little bit of most things; after all, I could worry about the price later.
Subsequently, at the counter, while I gulped at the astronomical price of my lunch - three times my typical expense - my psyche was soothed by the promise of unlimited free rice and drinks. (This is why you see two drinks in my photo!) I was empowered to get back what I thought was my money’s worth, so I ended my purchase on a pretty high note!
All in all, One Hundred Grains not only filled my stomach, but also left me with a great story to tell others, including you.
