I'm totally new to nostr and I'm curious to know the ecosystem, what do you guys use and why.

I currently find Primal the most functional, but I'm interested in exploring.

Beyond clients, I'd just like to know any other beginner advice you have, I'm interested to know what attracts you to this protocol as I'm trying to understand what's all the noise about it.

Thanks.

Primal as a daily driver on desktop because its fast and I like the way they display notifications.

Amethyst as a daily driver on mobile because its feature rich pretty fast, and I like the way they display notifications.

Nostrudel - Feature rich desktop client Fountain - V4V podcasting Wavlake - V4V Music Stacker News - Community and News Zap.Stream - Livestreams

Ox chat - Telegram replacement Citrine - Relay on your phone Zap.store - to find/install/update nostr and freedom tech apps

Zapp.add - zap a bunch of freaks Nostr.build - Media file storage Unleashed.chat - LLM's Flare.pub - V4V Videos

Honorable mentions to Yakihonne, Coracle, Damus, Highlighter, Nostrocket.

I use around 7-8 clients a day.

Primal for most interaction

Zap.stream for watching Stacker News Live

npub.pro for automatically creating a personal website based on my nostr posts

DAMUS MAXI HERE

But also use fountain and Wherostr which I think was developed in Thailand

reply

I'm not used to thinking of Fountain as a nostr client.

Fountain for podcasts is the biggest no-brainer in the entire ecosystem.

reply

But it is! A nostr-fide podcast application with zaps and boosts

Primal and amethyst.

reply

Thank you everyone for the replies! I discovered Amethyst and Fountain.fm from here and those will become apps I'll use regularly.

I use Amethyst on mobile, it has Tor only mode and private DMs. It's awesome, we need a desktop Nostr Tor browser.

reply

I use amethyst, which has active development on github. It incorporates many features of the protocol, only available for Android

reply

I just tried it, it's very neat, love it.

Mostly Nostrudel.ninja, the fastest and slickest / I wish it had a bit more intuitive and friendly interface.

Many times on Primal, but it often has problems with posting etc.
