As I mentioned in a previous post, I am organizing a pool with the top football (or soccer) tournament in Europe. Yesterday, it finished the previous stage to complete the teams that will be fighting for the trophy this year.

The 36 qualified teams, sorted by country are:

Germany: Bayern Leverkusen, Bayern München, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Stuttgart.

Italy: AC Milan, Atalanta, Bolonia, Inter Milan, Juventus.

England: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City

Spain: Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Real Madrid

France: Brest, Lille, Monaco, PSG

Austria: Salzburg, Sturm Graz

Netherlands: Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven

Portugal: Benfica, Sporting Lisbon

Belgium: Club Brugge

Croatia: Dinamo Zagreb

Czech Republic: Sparta Praha

Scotland: Celtic

Serbia: Crvena Zvezda

Slovakia: Slovan Bratislava

Switzerland: Young Boys

Ukraine: Shaktar Donetsk

This league phase, each team will play against 8 teams, four at home and four away. At the end of week 8, the top 8 teams will qualify to play Last 16 round. Then, from 9th to 24th will play a play-off (home and away) and the 8 winning teams will qualify to fight against the top 8 qualifiers from the group stage. This will lead to QF, SF and, eventually, to the final on May 31st, 2025.

The initial phase will run from September 16th up to February 19th. Please, matches are not played weekly. I will be posting dates in due time. I will make my best to remind you when you should be providing the results.

At this stage, I will ask you to forecast the 8 teams that will qualify as the top 8 at the end of regular phase. Each team you get right, it will give you 3 points. If the team ends up playing the play-offs and goes through to the last 16 round, it will only give you 1 point.

Obtaining pointsObtaining points

Every Monday before matches, I will post the 6 fixtures which you need to provide the result. You would get 3 points if you predicted who wins the game. If you predicted a draw, you would win 1 point if this is the result at the end of the match. And you wouldn’t win points if your prediction is wrong and the side you choose, lose the game. In addition, if your result exactly matches the match result, you will get 2 extra points.

Week 1 starts on September 16th. Matches will be played Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th.

Every Thursday, after all matches are completed, I will publish the standings

At the end of the 10 weeks, points obtained from teams who qualified will be added to the table.

Pool prizePool prize

All sats from the posts will go to the pool. A 10% fee will be deducted from the total sats received. At the end of the week 10, the stacker who tops the table will receive 50% of the bounty. Then, second stacker will receive 30% and third will receive 20%.
