Paradoxically, for Bitcoin to remain decentralised and thus achieve its primary goal, it had to, among other things,

1. Reveal the solution to the digital scarcity problem
2. Open source the code

This is what made altcoins possible.

I also find it interesting that Satoshi himself was the first shitcoiner (he co-created Namecoin) 😅
