Hey guys,

I'm new to the world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, so much interesting stuff!

From what I know StackerNews behaves like a lightning wallet and my username (or as they call it nym) becomes my lightning address.

So my question is, do I need any other lightning wallets, isn't the one on SN pretty much enough? Do those wallets provide any additional features?

Lastly how would I be able to withdraw BTC from Lightning to an on-chain wallet? Is that something other lightning wallets could assist with?

Thanks.

SN (stacker news) as a site is moving way from being a custodian lighting wallet. Potential future regulatory pressure is driving SN team towards attaching external wallets.

Here is a link to the attach wallet page found in the settings: https://stacker.news/settings/wallets

So long term you will want to spin up a different lightning wallet, no rush at the moment however. There are additional features the SN wallet does not have compared to other wallets but SN wallet in my experience is a great place to start as you learn about what features you need.

Also keep an eye out for future meta post, like this one #664522 posted recently. The SN team has been doing a lot of work recently in this area.

Lastly how would I be able to withdraw BTC from Lightning to an on-chain wallet? Is that something other lightning wallets could assist with?

Yes, also check out swaps via robosats.
