There will only ever be 21 million bitcoin ever created.
Think about this: There are 56 million millionaires on the planet, but only 21 million bitcoin.
There are just enough Bitcoin so that every New York citizen can own full coin.
If you own one bitcoin, you're in 0.0027% of the world's population that can ever hold a full BTC.
Most of the bitcoin supply is already out there. 19.1 million BTC has been mined and distributed into circulation.
Of course you might say, scarcity doesn’t matter, but it does. Humans have a natural desire to collect scarce things. Why do you think people line up for limited-edition Nike sneakers or Picasso paintings. Not many exist and everyone wants them.
On the other hand bitcoin is abundant. We can divide each one into 100,000,000 pieces.
