I was reading through the Substack of @DarthCoin and noticed that his post on SN regarding the government being a company was on Substack. It was so easy throwing @darthcoin a few sats on SN but obviously no ability on Substack to do the same thing.
I use websites, I've never built one. So with that in mind, how cool would it be if SN provided similar services to Substack? Ie. get email notification on new posts and the ability to pay for a subscription? SN would overtake Substack in no time.
I think that lightning wallets themselves could solve this problem so you're not tied to a centralised platform if you don't want to like wallets like alby can pick up your LN address if you;re blogging on medium, while you can add a specific meta tag to your website for the wallet to pick up too so the wallet gives a tipping prompt
We have it added to our site,
Additionally I can see things like publisher streaming like v4v for podcasts which can be added to a website or an RSS feed reader making it easy to pay via consumption/scroll depth of content or a preset value based on the users willingness to pay

Threw a few sats your way. The widget works great.

Thanks mate, appreciate it, you can also check out possible examples of scroll paying here and on-page tip prompts here, we're slowly merging bitcoin with normie internet and it's super bullish

Thanks for the sats! I think substack will end up in the end to integrate LN in their platform. Is just a matter of time.
I use that substack page) more as a "backup" of my thoughts and guides. I also use the Telegram notepad https://telegra.ph (https://t.me/telegraph) that is handy to keep some notes.

What would be cool is if wallets could enable rss feeds like breez does for podcasts, so you could just grab the medium, substack or WP rss feed, with a pubkey address in the feed and tip that way like v4v podcasts are doing
So no need for people to leave their preffered platform

Will come. Slowly wallet apps will introduce those additional features. Look for example Blixt wallet, with its WebLN browser integrated that brings to the user a lot of LN services. See online web demo here https://blixtwallet.com
