gnilma's Hiking Adventures 36 - Four Lakes Trail at Alice Lake Provincial Park

This week we head to Alice Lake Provincial Park and hike the Four Lakes Trail within the park. These photos were taken throughout our hike during our camping trip in early September 2023. The trail is a loop trail that is approximately 6.5km long with minimal elevation gain. It loops through all 4 lakes within the park, Stump Lake, Fawn Lake, Edith Lake, and Alice Lake; and it gives you great views of each lake. We hike the trail clockwise, but obviously as with any loop trail, it can also be hiked counter-clockwise. In between the lakes, the trail traverses through dense forest and small hills. The trail is well maintained and well marked.

The largest lake, Alice Lake, is also equipped with two beaches, two swimming areas, and a picnic area plus a playground next to the lake. We saw numerous people playing in the water or canoeing/kayaking/paddle boarding in Alice Lake. The park also has a drive-in campground. This park is a great place for camping or to just spend a day with your family.

Thanks. Many fungi (mushrooms etc.) come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. They are really cool but many are also poisonous. I think their network is called mycelium? There's a piece by Brandon Quittem comparing bitcoin to mycelium, it's pretty good.

I think mycelium is used to construct buildings, if I’m not mistaken.

It's located in BC, Canada next to highway 99 in the Sea to Sky Corridor to the north of Squamish. Look up Alice Lake Provincial Park in any maps app and you should be able to find it.
