Hi all folks!
I'm writing this here because I can't understand who to trust with regards to this issue. Let's start from the beginning.
Beginning
I've been a Mutiny user for months, particularly to test out that Fedimint thing that Mutiny implemented. I liked its integration with Nostr.
Then I decided to start using also the non custodial features of Mutiny, thus I moved sats in there and opened a channel.
Sadly, few days later (literally 15 days) Mutiny announced the shutdown.
The issue
After the announcement, I decided to close the channel and move the sats in another OC wallet, and so I reached the Mutiny menu to close a channel. Once I confirmed that I wanted to close it, an exception was raised:
Channel closed because of an exception: Unable to come to consensus about closing feerate, remote wants something (431 sat) lower than our min fee (770 sat)
This is the exception message that appears on the transaction list, along with the day (5 aug) and the Channel ID.
Since then, nothing moved on, force closure is still pending since 5 aug.
I also tried to move the sats to an another OC wallet because Mutiny shows the sats as sitting on the OC wallet, but there's no sats in the OC wallet, any amount I try to move is "higher than the wallet balance".
Help
What am I supposed to do? How can I deal with this? I tried to import the seed to another OC wallet BIP39 compliant bu funds didn't show up.
Official support
A friend of mine told me to contact Mutiny official support, so I jumped into their Discord channel and wrote a question.
Immediately a nym started contacting me in Discord DM to offer support, but I soon realized that it was somehow scammy at best...nym provided a link to a scammy-looking webpage where I was supposed to insert the seed phrase so that "your channel will be force to close on a particular price without renegotiating over and over".
Now, I highly doubt that the Mutiny wallet team will ever ask users to provide their seed phrases. And I highly doubt that they like the idea of having scammers acting as their official support. If possible, do something about it Mutiny.
Epilogue
There's no epilogue really, I'm stucked with some sats in a force closure and I cannot deal with this in any way, I don't know who I'm supposed to trust for help. This is why I wrote it here publicly.
