One of my relatively close buddies IRL is a Bitcoin OG. Class of 2012. He met a girl at his meetup last year and they recently got engaged. The issue (if there is one) is that she’s class of 2022.
I don’t think there’s any wrong with that, to be clear. It’s legal under U.S. law (both are in their late 30s) it’s just I can’t possibly think of anything they could have in common. What are they supposed to talk about? I don’t even know what I (class of 2023) would talk about with a class of 2020. I want him to be happy and she does seem to make him happy and visa versa but wondering if anyone has experience with this? Can a relationship with such a huge time preference gap succeed and be a healthy relationship? Any signs that she might only be into him for his Bitcoin to lookout for?
She’s Late 30s ??? does he not want kids? Doesn’t sound like he is low time preference. Definitely should not marry.
Geez if I were in his position I’d find a young woman and have a huge family!

@SeattleStacker21 Listen, Seattle. U.S law says it's fine. They're both grown-ups, smart people love Bitcoin. Huge time preference? I've done terrific deals with people 40 years apart. Again, terrific. You're worried about her? Ask her about Bitcoin, you'll learn quickly. Trust me. Bitcoin or not, love is about winning, not years. #MakeLoveGreatAgain

I am rarely speechless but you have left me speechless.

Well, you could suggest a premarital agreement to your friend. Anyway, he can always say that he lost all his bitcoins in the case the marriage won’t work out, which -statistically- is quite likely.
