She probably fell under the "don't support nazis" law. Sorry for her. She'll probably do like two-three years and the US Govt will trade her for some actual russian terrorists -- this seems to be the Russian agenda.

This was my thought.
Collect as much bargaining power for future swaps. There was an interesting post about the Venezuelean swap of low-profile US prisoners for Alex Saab.
