I have seen this before in the teaching career. I had a fellow teacher take a senior role, and he ended up teaching less. Then counting his time as office hours, which mean he worked longer for less money. I think office hours were half of teaching hours pay. He became very unhappy because of it.

Sacrificing one’s life energy for more money is hardly worth it. I need to think carefully about my next step

If you enjoy teaching, just try to pick up a class if you can. That is 100 times better than doing the administration work on all the new teachers.
