We went through this migration about a decade ago at my last job. CMake is such a huge upgrade. IIRC Build times were a lot faster, the build system was more maintainable, and the build errors were way more helpful.

Agree, I would never start a new project now using GNU Autohell.
The amazing thing is the individuals sacrificing their time and energy to make this migration possible and successful. Thanks to them.
