1 My name is Willis Gibson. I am a 13-year-old boy from America. I like to work hard and play hard. My hobby is playing Tetris. The game involves rotating blocks that float down my Nintendo screen. When I arrange them to form rows with no gaps, I gain points. I love Tetris because it is simple to play but challenging to master.
2 I first came across Tetris videos on YouTube when I was ten. I was amazed by the skilful players. Excited, I told my mother I wanted to be just like them. She encouraged me by buying the necessary equipment for the game. I was eager to play well, so I put in a lot of energy into mastering the skills. However, I made sure to complete my homework first before playing the game. I wanted to strike a balance between my studies and gaming.
3 I was diligent in improving my skills and practised hard every day. I thought about my mistakes and reflected on how I could play better. Finally, all my efforts paid off. On 21 December 2023, something amazing happened. My Tetris score read "999999"! No one had achieved this extraordinary result before! I felt thrilled!
4 I feel proud of myself because I have juggled my studies and playing Tetris well. Everyone says that I am a talented player, but I do not think so. I just practise very hard. My goal is to win the Tetris World Championship for my parents and teachers. I believe that my resilience will help me realise this dream.
