For some time I have been fascinated by the idea that Jesus life and words have impacted western culture in ways most of us do not understand. Those that do not believe in Jesus don't see it. Those that do are not really aware of how deep His impact has been. I clipped a short segment of David Gornoski talking about this on the Bob Murphy Show.

Jesus dealt with the issues plaguing the human nature. So far, He's the best solution there is.
Yes, the hierarchy of solutions are:
This is very profound
Have you read Viktor Frankl, Man's Search For Meaning?
Not yet. My wife has and highly recommends it
Do we blame the Romans or the Israel lobby for crucifying Christ?
Pontus Pilate or Judea?
You ask the wrong question. If we had been there it is likely we would have went along.
Its a thorny question, however the Gospels make it pretty clear that PP was trying to broker a solution with the Pharisees/Sadducee to not execute him, even sending him off to Herod to deal with. However all approaches were rejected, until PP finally just posed the question to the crowd...."Give us Barabbas was the response"
(Note: a very interesting name that "Barabbas" had. In Hebrew, Bar = Son / Abba = Father. So in a sense the crowd was chanting "Give us the Son of the Father"....very curious)
Thorny lol
🤣🤣🤣
The greatest lesson I learned as a christian: when a man obeys follows Christ, the Word of God is not protecting you from others, instead, it is protecting others from you. If we have enough people that truly follow and obey Christ, the world becomes a better place.
I learned yesterday that Jesus kept Kosher.
I am embarassed to admit this was in the context of a discussion about Josh Shapiro being a potential VP.
Yeah, I would assume based on my understanding. He was a Rabbi after all. Taught in synagogue.
Of course it did. I just don’t understand why people need a mascot in order to love one another.
Stay humble my friend. We all stand on the shoulders of giants. We learn from those that came before us. It is hard for us to understand what we take as a given. It is hard for us to imagine what it would be like to be born in a different time and place.
He is the only God in the world. Amen
