Just as the title says. I orange pilled my dad last spring and he slowly started his journey of learning about Bitcoin. It wasn't long before he was sending me Bitcoin podcasts and memes I have seen a million times but it was really great watching him fall deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. However, I recently opened a meme he texted me from the LoveIsBitcoin account which has a hot European babe in most of its posts. I saw his name in a reply to the tweet and when I clicked on his profile and looked at it, all his posts were replies to sexy female bitcoin influencers telling them how pretty they are, telling them good morning, and making suggestive comments about how attractive they are for being super orange pilled.
What do I do know? Do I tell my mom?! Do I tell him I saw him simping on Bitcoin Twitter? I dread to look for his Nostr. HELP!
I would sit down face to face with him and have a conversation about it. It may be tough for him to take coming from his son. If he isn't receptive I would talk to some of his male friends that he respects and ask them to talk to him with you. If he isn't receptive to that, I would talk to your mom. Give him the chance to correct his path.
Think about what you would want your son (if you every had one) or friend to do. Hopefully he will be receptive to what you have to say.
Edit:
To those that think there is nothing wrong with this, that's fine. You are entitled to your opinion. The core issue is secrecy. If this is all cool for him to do he will have no issue with his wife knowing about it. If he doesn't want her to know then he obviously knows he is breaking his commitment to her and breaking trust. Everyone makes mistakes. It is how we respond to them that matters most. He also may not realize how easy it is to be exposed.

Im more worried that he's going to call me a seed oil guzzler if I call him out than that it will be awkward, tbh
reply
For me, it would come down to if I care more about my dad, or what my dad will say to me. If you say nothing and things go sideways you will regret your decision. If you talk to him at least you tried. No guarantee. Obviously, I don't know you or your dad. There are people that I wouldn't even waste my time with because I know them well enough to know they would just attack me as you say. I know my dad would never do that. At least I don't think he would. Even so, I would give him the chance to come clean because our relationship.
I'll leave it there. Godspeed sir. Maybe sleep on it. If you believe in God, pray about it.

Someone informed me LoveIsBitcoin is actually a greek man. I am going to confront my father with this information and hope that he feels embarrassed and learns his lesson
you are just an anon... nothing can be taken in consideration from an anon account on SN
reply
What do you have against privacy? I find it odd to see such a sentiment on here of all places
reply
You have no idea what really is privacy. Privacy it doesn't mean you hide behind an anon account that can be anybody else on SN. A nym is something else, built out of real identity, but still keeping a certain "value" in online world and still keeping a real privacy from the real identity. Nobody can relate a real identity with a nym because it doesn't exist any relation. Build your reputation as nym and you will have another "result".
Posting under "anon" account it doesn't make you more "private" but more suspicious to be a fed. If you really have balls, post under a nym. Nobody told you to post here a passport and/or SS number. Those are meaningless anyways.
ANON POSTS ARE TOTALLY GARBAGE. I SIMPLY DO NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THEM. Darth is always right. You will remember my words.
reply
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the Death Star this morning!
reply
Darth is always right when he spoke out clearly.
are you realizing that this story by an "anon" can be fake or just a trap ? ANYTHING from an anon account it must be discarded. Otherwise you are just falling for a trap.
reply

Post a picture of your passport or else I will have to consider you a fed
reply
passports are only for slaves, not for sovereign individuals. Asking me, as a sovereign individual for my passport, definitely makes you more a fed than me. Only feds are asking for passports.
reply
A true sovereign individual would never take a comment like this seriously.
ANYTHING from an anon account it must be discarded
I must not do anything unless I believe it for myself. I'm not interested in being a slave to another person's words/advice. But, in this case, I agree that anon can't be trusted but when you start using must you set yourself up as authority.
Even you posted on this thread. Why? If it must be discarded, I suspect you did so for others to see and be warned. That's why I responded to this post as well. Even if this post is false, the comments I leave are what I believe I should do if I were in this situation.
reply
A nym is not the same as anon account in online. If you cannot make that difference, sorry but why are you still online debating? Under "anon" account can be absolutely anybody from SN or not even having a nym account and playing with words. That's why ANY anon posts must be discarded. or taken only as a joke or manipulation.
"anon" will never means "privacy"... but more like manipulation, deceive, propaganda, "testing grounds" and lies.
reply
I understand the difference. I agree with you on the issues with anon v nym. Just don't assume WHY I posted. Many other people read comments besides the OP (anon).
reply
Many other people read comments besides the OP (anon).
Just do not engage with "anons"... is useless and you are just making their game. Make your own post if you like to discuss.
reply
Edit: I hear ya. I'm NOT worried about it either way.
reply
Yes. My post is evergreen and honest advice even if the post is a lie/trap/etc. Same goes for any post on SN. I agree with you about Anon posts in general but don't assume I am not aware everything on this site could be faked. In a very real sense all these posts are not real. I don't just write for the OP.
reply
This same thing happened to me. You have to talk to him even if just to make sure he doesn't get catfished like my dad did. He lost 2.5 Bitcoin to a scammer pretending to be a hot babe privacy infuencer.
reply

reply
Wait a minute. Michael Saylor said on youtube that if I give him one bitcoin his company will send me 3! Are you trying to cheat me?
reply
No! Are you trying to pressure a fellow stacker into raising his promises to you?! Fine!
I'LL RETURN 4(!) BTC FOR THE PRICE OF ONLY 1.8!
reply

At a previous office I consulted for, and mid-level exec...VP got caught in Nigerian scam. It came to a head when 2 FBI agents showed up to the office to request an interview with him....caused by him calling the bank that morning telling them to be on the lookout for a 105M wire coming in from Nigeria into his personal checking account.
The FBI agents explained to him that he was a fraud victim and the 10-20k "fees" he had spent on his "nigerian lawyers" was a scam.
He was otherwise a smart and capable person....it was hard to believe he fell for it, but evidently its a popular scam for a reason.

reply
Nope, messaged some company's, never heard back from them.
It's a bit shitty at the moment in terms of jobs, since it's practically shitty pay wherever you go, but the jobs that you can currently get are shitty in execution on top, it's a bit of a waiting game atm.

I have a friend whose Dad is sadly very sick and doesn’t have long left. His Dad sent him a few links to Korean porn videos when he was drinking late at night. My friend ignored it until his wife saw a few of the messages. How do you respond when your wife asks you why your Dad is sending you porn links 🤣🤣
I don’t think you need to tell your mom. But….you definitely need to talk to your Dad.
Not necessarily that you disagree with what he is doing (you might be cool with it) but it’s more about safety on the internet and how easy it is to get scammed as others have mentioned.
Good luck anon

Love that you guys are dragging OP for deciding against airing out his dad's dirty laundry via his normal account.
Anyway - I'd simply point out the decentralized nature of the internet, and that like bitcoin, anything you add to it is going to be there forever, for anyone to find. Even if it's a private message, it'll probably leak one day.

First of all, don't be a snitch. Mom doesn't need to know. I would just ask him if he knows what simping is and then explain why he is one and why he should stop. At a minimum tell him that in reality they are most definitely dudes trying to get his bitcoin by pretending to be attractive women.

There are a ton of scammers and impersonators out there, yes. And he should explain the various ways they use.
