3 million sats is a lot!

They would be recovered just in 30 months! No issues, that's a valid reason. Is there any mechanism of transferring rights of territory in case of owner's death? A nominee or something like that?

What about the ownership rights after death of one stacker? I want my territory should be handed over to the the person of my choosing. Are there any rules regarding this or is it just like that the territory will never be owned by someone else.
I actually get your point, may be partially. You mean that I can have a person or a group in my life that know my login for stacker news and in the event of my death, he/they can takeover.

My comment was a joke. Inheritance for territories is not something we've thought about yet.
reply
Okay. But we need to think about it.

If you purchase a territory and put it in your will or something, we can always manually transfer it when you pass.
In general though, I'd recommend against viewing territories this seriously and purchasing or renting if you view them this seriously. They aren't sure things for the faint of heart. They will be money pits until we prove that they aren't.
reply
No for money pits but to pass on the work I might have done when I pass. Also, when you say that owning a territory should be like a non-profit why would someone invest in it if it won't generate any profits?
30 months for life instead 36 installments is a good 20% deal!

yes, you need to wait for the owner to abandon it, after 5 days will be available. But stay tuned! Maybe co-ownership is coming soon...

Kindly re-read my question. I'm talking about handing over a territory to someone who an owner can designate in case he dies. Talking about a territory which has been bought for a lifetime.

I read that territories ownership is now transferrable. I mean, the owner has the option to nominate a new owner. But if death surprisingly arrives... well, that's another thing! If you are an owner, just make sure the sats goes to your non-custodial wallet.
