You know I noticed something quite inspiring about some of my Bitcoin friends.
These are not authors or influencers or anything like that, just local plebs, but several have reached out to me with small essays or quotes and sometimes longer pieces about Bitcoin, freedom, and liberty that they have been writing on their own.
It demonstrates to me a deep search for truth that seeks to engage the material (books, podcasts, the whitepaper etc) that is already out there and to then go beyond them to resynthesise the ideas for themselves. This kind of intellectual rigour is grassroots and emergent.
I wonder how many of you keep a diary or journal where you have written your thoughts about Bitcoin? How many of you have questions that you have left in a book? Have even found yourself questioning things within or without the Bitcoin world that others take for granted?
I wonder if this trait echos the kind of energy that the founding fathers of the US carried?

Incredible India 🇮🇳 (Day 5)

The Statue of Unity

It’s huge, almost gigantic! That is the first reaction most people have as they speed down the winding road leading to the towering Statue of Unity (SoU). A long bridge connects the mainland to the Sadhu Bet Island, on which the statue stands. Silhouetted against the surrounding Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges, the colossal statue almost seems to pierce the skyline. The legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s Iron Man, lives on in the form of this massive statue dominating the Narmada river basin. The statue has been built on a star-shaped geometric base that covers the entire Sadhu Hill. It has a viewing gallery at 135 m, at the statue’s chest level, that can be reached via two high-speed elevators. The gateway to the elevators is through an exhibition gallery, in which you can marvel at a model of the statue and an elaborate blueprint, among other exhibits.

Are posting fees counted in the daily revenue payouts?
I got a couple days this week where people clearly posted in ~econ, but the notification for revenue didn't show up, implying 0 revenue.

This seems a little different. @k00b corrected an error the same day, and I received my revenue. There may be something else going on. Since the correction, my territories seem fine.
reply

I think I figured out the source of my confusion.
On my notifications, sometimes referral revenue comes before territoritory revenue, and sometimes not. And sometimes territory revenue is materially later.
And so, on days when territory revenue was late, I thought to myself "huh, last time it came before referal revenue, since referal revenue came out already, my territory revenue must be zero today".
When really, I just had to have more patience.

Exemption

The word “exemption” means to be freed from an obligation or liability imposed by others with authority, usually through contract.
Therefore to use an exemption is to accept the obligation, and subsequent imposed authority, resulting in accepting the policy within a contract that may grant you exemption.

Been testing the random zaps, love it! and you can still long-click the ⚡️ to custom the zaps!
Also, I discovered that there is something called zap on comment / post failed if your didn't approve the zap from Alby, but then you can even click to retry, really cool. ( someone ISTP in team SN? 👀 )
reply
61 sats \ 4 replies \ @k00b 3 Aug
The retry stuff was one of the harder parts, but super worth it. It’ll be really important when we are non-custodial. You’ll always know “it succeeded or I’ll be notified.”
reply
and I noticed one detail too: let's say the zap failed, there was a time gap between I can retry until the OP notices that there are some sats gone "missing", it seems like you can play with the OP? 😂
reply
40 sats \ 2 replies \ @k00b 3 Aug
The OP doesn’t know about your zap until it succeeds. If you go incognito, you’ll see that until it succeeds only you see it.
