Air Conditioned Lawnmower, 1957
In October 1957, advertisements introduced the "Power Mower of the Future", showcasing the next generation of lawn mowing equipment.
This innovative machine featured a bubble-shaped model with its own air conditioning system. The lawnmower had a five-foot diameter plastic sphere where the rider sat on an air-foam cushioned seat.
Equipped with an electric generating system, it powered running lights, a radio telephone, air conditioning, and even a cooling system for a chilled drink on a hot day. This versatile machine could mow the lawn, weed, feed, seed, spray for insects, plow snow, and haul equipment. It could even double as a golf cart.
More than just a concept, this machine was featured on the cover of a 1958 edition of Mechanix Illustrated. However, it never went into production. https://m.stacker.news/43045
Of course I want one.
If you've ever seen a zero turn mower mower you'll understand that they are so fast and can cut a hectare in about 30 minutes so no need for the slow mower and fantasy bubble.
