With the fall of FTX and how it was offshored due to the US's unclear regulation, it makes the most sense to encourage BTC and others development in the US. This would give the end users some sort of protection against firms or companies that collapse as well as help make sure those companies are keeping their houses in order.
The government doesn't need to regulate everything but I think to reach mass adoption and to get more of the little people into BTC ASAP they need to have an area that the government keeps an eye on. Once you learn much like a child you can go off and wonder into thinks like DeFi and the numerous other beautiful things you can do with BTC and blockchain but a safe harbor for people to learn without losing all their money would really benefit all.
I wonder when they will start teaching about bitcoin and the blockchain in school? Especially if the government adopts it.
