Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. We know that mainstream Bitcoin adoption is accelerated by the companies building tools for the mainstream. Without these builders, Bitcoin would still be a nascent, hard-to-use technology reserved for cypherpunks and techno-geeks. Without private investments, these builders have limited resources to achieve their goals.
We also know it's uncool to gatekeep access to investing in Bitcoin startups, so we've opened the door to allow non-accredited individuals to support their favorite Bitcoin companies. We are leveling the playing field so you no longer have to be a millionaire to invest in and receive equity in private Bitcoin startups like LNbits (our first offering).
If you weren't aware, Stacker News raised VC money to enable its continued development. Wouldn't it have been cool if they could have allowed their users to get skin in the game and receive equity for supporting the platform they use and love? You may not have joined in, but we think it's important to give that option to everyone.
We love Bitcoin, and are leveraging our skillsets to help bolster the industry the best way we know how. We aren't sure why you feel that this is such a terrible thing, but wish you all the best in your pursuits regardless. 🧡
