On it's way to the EUSSR. The EU's upcoming Asset Register has raised alarms about privacy. This extensive database will catalog a wide array of citizens' assets, from real estate and bank accounts to securities, vehicles, and possibly artworks and precious metals. This is the next step to unprecedented surveillance.

Why don't they make a register where they can even track down the wardrobe of every citizen and can declare that which colour is most preferred in the country for wearing on a certain day!

Let's be honest, real estate and vehicles are already in mandatory state registers. They can have access to bank records and brokerage accounts at will.
So, while concerning, this isn't that great of a leap forward, more like a consolidation of existing power.
This will, of course, make it easier to hunt (and tax) those who would dare to protect themselves from inflation by holding harder assets. (Hint: It was never about Russians and terrorists.)

and above all it is about introducing a new level of taxation at European Union level. you have already used up your budget for this year and are desperately looking for new sources of revenue to finance your bureaucratic socialist projects. hence the consolidation of the various registers.

two months ago, the french finance minister pointed out that the european union had used up its budget for the current year. the eu is broke and needs new levels of funding. the state and its bureaucracy will continue to grow. it's going to get really nasty
