For all the regime's talk about "democracy," it is clear at this point that the White House is run by unelected personnel who are accountable only to the elites in their own ruling coalition.
Are they really technocrats?
Aren’t they more akin to plutocrats? Rich donors calling the shots.
Maybe a mix.
reply
I suppose that depends on how you define "expert". I'd say those plutocrats are regime anointed experts.
reply
Its called bribery, except on a different scale.
reply
I think this has been clear for some time.
What bothers me is how little people seem to care. And a startling but not uncommon opinion is that this is good. Many of my friends would rather blindly trust the experts than spend 10 minutes researching for themselves.
reply
First, deny it. Then, if that fails, defend it.
reply
it's worse than indifference... too many people support a technocracy
I support private school vouchers: you are not an educator!
Boys should not compete in girls sports: you are not a biologist!
Certain ethnic groups commit a disproportionate amount of crime: you are not a criminologist!
I don't want mRNA shots: you are not a scientist!

I was under the understanding that every time we elect a president, they bring in their own cabinet. And that cabinet consists of people who will benefit them, not the other way around.
reply
Right, the elected people are supposed to be in charge and the cabinet are supposed to implement their policies while also offering advice.
Now it seems that it is those unelected figures who actually make the decisions.
reply
would be fine(?) if it wasnt because of the fact they arent humble for lack of a better term
