Yeah! I think many people will need it
Here is my use case:
Add lightning invoice and ln-url withdrawal for my little website..
1st solution: Create and maintain a node by myself, the initial cost will be around 15$/month + a lot of time..
2nd solution: Just use OpenNode and pay 1% for every transaction.
Since there is no much volume, in business perspective, the 2nd is best..
Right now I am using OpenNode with a company account..
If volume going up, i will change to the 1st solution.
btcpayserver on voltage?

I don't want to sound condescending here. But there are many free LnUrl services for a "little website" on the Internet. Also setting up a node might be techie but it isn't THAT hard to pay a whole percent or would cost 15$ a month.

Thanks for the info..
Many merchants are familiar with stripe/paypal workflow, so they can easily on board lighting payment with OpenNode.
Could you please share some LnUrl services they can support lN invoice and LN-URL withdraw? I'd love to try..
reply
Would you use this service if they didn't support LNURL withdrawal right away (if it's a feature that's coming very soon). Only normal withdrawals (user has to paste bolt11 invoice)
reply
have you tried lnbits.com? I think it already has all the feature I need
reply
Nice! You are building this? Can I try it first?
reply
Yes actually. Should I contact you through here when it's ready for you to try?
reply
yeah. please

That is true. Especially if they handle/guarantee timestamps of transactions for taxes and stuff and compability with cards it might be very worth it. I hope Block does some big moves in this direction very soon.

What about here? Stacker News can do this. If it's what I imagine a "little website" to be ... why not receive a coffee every now and then here?
Also, with Bolt12 QR codes for static Lightning addresses I expect this to become widespread everywhere for every wallet app out there.
reply
It's entirely reasonable to not want to manage a lightning node on top of one's own business. It takes time and thought away from the main business.

It would be nice if there was a service out there that could provision and configure a btcpay server for small business users that could integrate into websites like a plugin. Seems like it would be a service folks would be willing to pay for!

you mean Voltage.Cloud?

nice =)

So in your case you were fine with doing KYC.
would you trust a service that doesn't require KYC? Would you prefer it?
reply
Well, if you have a website you aren't KYC-free anyway.
At latest when registering a domain you are exposing a connection between a website that accepts Bitcoin and your real name. Likely even sooner (Isp, Impressum...)
reply
I don't like KYC..but my business is very small and legal, KYC should be fine.
Muun / Voltage.Cloud are all services without KYC, I am still using them.
If merchants can withdraw their sats in real time, I definitely love to try version without KYC.
reply
Oh that's a good point. So the ability to withdraw sats in real time alleviates the trust issue?
reply
Yeah I think so.. And the business provider can earn trust through time.
