I dont want to sound ignorant, but I felt like russia could have cared less about the assets america seized.
It still kept going like a well oiled machine without americas involvement.
My guess is that they have been planning to become less dependent on the US for many years. That said, it is my understanding that Putin works for the oligarchs that rose to power after the fall of the USSR. I've also heard that many of their assets that were able to be seized were seized. I'm guessing there is some pain but no where near what US politicians claimed early on.
