They have completely abandoned the worker, the proletariat.
Leftists are now like Lenin and Trotsky or Marx and Engels. Elitists and pseudo intellectuals who have contempt for the working class.
You can see this by the disdain they have for a segment of working class people, which used to be the average "worker" that communists claimed they fought for and represented. Blue collar working folks. Even unionized folks.
For many socialists and commies being churned out of college, their idea of the working class is... themselves and their 18-25yo coworkers working to pay their student loans at Starbucks in a major city.
Some of these people believe they don't need farmers, because they can just get food at the grocery store, so fuck em and their demands.
