A recent survey by the Ifo Institute and the Swiss Institute for Economic Policy reveals growing skepticism about the EU's future as an economic and political powerhouse. Experts across Europe, particularly in France, Germany, and the Czech Republic, foresee a decline in the EU's significance.
The "Economic Expert Survey" found that many believe the EU must bolster its unified foreign and economic policies to compete with the US and China. Despite this, a majority of respondents advocate for increased legislative powers at the EU level. However, they also predict a rise in the importance of national policymaking, possibly due to the surge of populist parties in Europe.
You have to wonder where the majority opinion comes from that even more political powers should be shifted into the hands of the eu technology council. More power in Brussels - then everything will be fine? By no means! The fact that the European Union, with its climate panic policy, its overregulation and its ever-increasing taxation, is possibly to blame for the economic downturn, hardly occurs even to the professionals, the propaganda curtain that the europarats have closed around themselves like a cocoon is too good.
Conducted from June 12 to June 26, 2024, the survey included nearly 1,600 economic experts. The results were compiled before a coalition formed in the European Parliament and the appointment of the new European Commission President.

Okay, I think that the influence of BRICS and G20 have grown considerably in recent years. BRICS specifically has been very instrumental in taking down EU's influence.

That is clearly the case. In addition, the Europeans are taking themselves out of the game with their sanctions policy against Russia

And also by making our industry uncompetitive with misguided green policies.

It doesn't have to occur to all Europeans, simultaneously. There might just be one Brexit after another, as certain people figure it out.

It's going to be a real battle. You can see how all the system parties are joining forces against the neo-conservative movement.

Bad news once again. Can you post the link to the survey? I tried to find it but without success.

EU isn't learning a lesson here from their all time worst policies. What was the need to be involved in a war which was never meant to be fought for your people. What I see that by escalating with Russia or Putin, EU invited a dark future for them.
Why EU went ahead in support of Ukraine? Because, EU want to profit by taking part in War Economy created by Big brother USA. However, this decision has already proved a disaster!!
reply
To be honest, I am more and more of the opinion that it was the Europeans who wanted this escalation to cover their own default. they are trying to drag the Americans deeper into this war all the time.
because remember: who came immediately when Putin and Selensky had a peace treaty on the table two years ago? BoJo the clown from England

Each country has their own agenda. Its too hard to get them to work together. As they say, "when poverty comes in the door, love goes out the window."

it is important that power is split up again and distributed to the smallest possible units if we want to have a society of libertarian basic principles. the european union as a free market was a good idea, but as a political power structure that pulls its own gigantic bureaucracy over everything is a disaster

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Everyone thinks their agenda is more important.
