Hello Stackers
I would like to share some of the cool things I have tried and enjoyed after lurking around here 🤓️
1. How to pay for things in daily life with Lightning
Moonpay is one of the nice tools, no KYC, but it is restricted paying to USA merchants only. I tried to pay for things in another country, and yes, it did not work. But seems the open source Bolt card could solve this problem, as I have not tried it myself yet. Happy to know more if anyone is using it.
2. How to add Lightning tipping on your website
I originally wanted to add a simple widget to my blog, and I have found the easiest way is twentyuno. Thanks for the tips from @secondl1ght
Then you also need to have a Lightning Address, and these are the simple solutions I have found:
-Alby
-LightningTipBot
-lntxbot
Both telegram bots are super easy to set up, but I'm not too fond of the idea of exposing telegram ID.
While exploring, I also saw the cool footer from @dergigi's site. I did not know it was possible to even self-hosting your lightning address; this is so cool ⚡️ However, I haven't found a simple way to self-host it yet.
3. Vale for value
I saw it here first and love this idea.
As a content creator myself, I kept thinking about what other better ways to monetize as I don't want to put a paywall on everything——content creation is not all about money, it can be about cool connections or interesting discussions which leads to personal growth.
Then I was experimenting with NFT, but there were quite some frictions:
a) the need to educate the non-crypto native audience
b) the current infrastructures are quite centralized
c) long-term incentive design is hard
d) privacy concern in the onchain world
All these seemingly complicate the whole thing, taking up lots of time and energy while all I want is to focus on my craft and connect with like-minded people.
Then I found SN, easy tipping, less noise, and simple working incentive, so refreshing.
Thanks for making this site, and helping me to see what is possible.@k00b
