Ordinal numbers are serial numbers for satoshis. In an effort get people interested, I've been offering bounties on specific ordinals, or ordinals with specific qualities. I had a huge grab bag of bounties, but I decided to change it up and focus on one bounty at a time.
The current bounty is here!
To claim the bounty, send a single sat* to the address on the bounty page. The catch: The sat must be the first sat in the output you send. This is stipulated because otherwise, sending at least 10 contiguous sats would be sufficient to claim the bounty, and that would be too easy.
To claim the bounty, you'll have to understand how ordinals work, look up some ordinals you own on the ordinals.com block explorer and write some pretty simple code to construct a transaction with input sand outputs in the right order.
NB Whenever you look up a utxo you own on a block explorer, it's a privacy leak! You can run your own copy of the block explorer, get the code on github.
The reward is 100,000 sats**.
The bounty can only be claimed once, and is definitely unclaimed as long as no transactions have been sent to the bounty address.
The bounty page contains instructions on how to claim the bounty.
If anyone claims this bounty, I'll come up with another, harder one. Maybe one day the bounty will be to find one of the three epic ordinals mined so far.
* In practice you'll have to send more, so your transaction doesn't have dust outputs, and thus be non-standard and not relayed.
The bounty has been claimed by @count_null!
The sent output was exactly the dust limit at 546 sats, and contained [1435707772990000,1435707772990546).
The 100,000 sat reward just confirmed.
The successful submission was overkill, it has 4 trailing zeros. Maybe 5 next time? Or something else? 🤔
