Seems unlikely. There's a photo of the bullet wizzing past Trump's head. And it must be live ammunition since a bystander died from it. You don't take that kind of a risk just for a photo opp

It's a Sony a9iii. It can shoot 120frame per second. Chances are the sound triggered the photo burst.

You think AP reporters have a sound-trigger on literally all the time? I have a hard time imagining it. I never have it on on my hobby photography
The bullet should also be already gone when the sound arrives. It's the first bullet on the photo

Dude, the amount of photos reporters take is so much it's not surprising they got a photo of the bullet out of sheer luck.
Even in the film days a typical photographer covering an event would take hundreds of photos. With digital you can practically shoot full frame video constantly at low cost.
