Different Territory owners set different default posting fees. Some lower than 50 sats, others higher than 500 sats. The question is:
  1. How much is too little for a Territory owner to raise enough to maintain their Territories? An example here: #414140.
  2. How much is too much for a Stacker to post in the most appropriate territory? Reference: #422548
Some Stackers tend not to post in the most appropriate territory due to posting fees. As seen here: #596598. And some Territory owners tend to set a higher default posting fee than necessary, with the aim of raising enough revenue for maintaining their Territories.
The question is: How much is too much? and How much is too little?
I set mine at 50. Originally had it at 21. Hasn't changed posting behaviour.
At some point I might move it to 100 but I am happy where it is now. I know I am not going to make enough revenue to cover the monthly fee. I would rather encourage people to post and build the territory up.

I view territories as like setting up a business for future. You have to come up with a plan. A 100 to 200 would seem much more if your territory isn't getting good engagement. I've seen it with ~health in past 2 or 3 months. I think territory fees should be gradually escalated with the rise in popularity. Currently, I can say 100 to 200 sats for a popular territory is not too much. Even +250 may seem too much to a new Stackers or to old ones if your territory isn't gathering much engagement.

I am wanting to keep mine as low as possible. Set at 88 for now. I have no idea how, when and if this will pay for itself. I just hold onto it because I like the idea behind stacker a lot and I have faith in it. I convert a little sunlight to Bitcoin daily I put a chunk of that into a stacker territory. I think the key for me earn back what I put in would be to interact more. Not raising the fees. Interacting also makes the territory better. Lately I have just been busy elsewhere. I might start spending more time here.

I've recently reduced my fees from 100 to 21. I initially had upped it to 100 to act like a filter as I was getting posts without any form of source. I always tipped back the posting fee if the post wasn't spam. Trying 21 now to see if it somehow increases activity in my ~science territory without affecting quality. Let's see.

Since there are no territory owners here to profit, posting fee is essentially a filter. I think twice about posting over 199.
