Thrilling match between Germany and Spain. It started pretty bad for Spain as Pedri suffered an injury, after a tackle from Kroos, and had to leave early in the match. However, the substitute, Dani Olmo, became the player of the match. He scored a goal in the second half and gave the assist to Mikel Merino to make a very late goal at the end of the match (minute 119). As a curiosity, Merino´s father scored a goal at the same stadium, 33 years ago, when he was playing for Osasuna and celebrated the goal as yesterday: running around the flag situated in one of the corners. It is the first time in history that Spain beats a host during a tournament (Euro Cup or World Cup).
The second match, between Portugal and France, ended goalless after the 120 minutes of play. I think that Portugal was reminding the previous round where Diogo Costa had an extraordinary performance. This time could not repeat it and João Félix missed his penalty. France went through to SF and will play against Spain on Tuesday 9th July, 21:00 CET.
Today, England will play against Switzerland at 18:00 CET. Swiss team have been playing well and England will have to raise their game to avoid leaving the tournament at this stage. They are strong enough to qualify. A good sample was their performance after trailing their match at round of 16 against Slovakia.
Then, at 21:00 CET, Netherlands will play against, perhaps, the weakest side of this stage, Turkey. However, I would not be too much confident as Turkey may surprise them.
Finally, I share a table after the first two matches. Four stackers remain with possibilities to earn the prize.
Good luck to everyone and I hope you enjoy the matches!

France should get a prize for (how good they are to shoot outside the goal ) and also a prize for not scoring a real goal since the beginning of the Euro and to be in Semi-Final
reply
They have already won them, as they are in semi final. If we look retrospectively, they are doing a lot of things right. Nobody has been able to beat them, so be careful!
reply
We won! but what bad luck the other predictions, Portugal fell on penalties...
reply
Penalties are a lottery. Portugal played well though not precise at the last shot. Also , the French goalkeeper made a few good saves.
Can’t wait for Tuesday!

France has not scored a goal that is not from a penalty or an own goal, it is a team without goal, I think we can win.
reply
True, but this is the way they play. I am confident with the Spanish side, but France is a tough one. Very physical, their players were running right up to the end of the extra time. Our players had some physical problems, that would be my main concern.
reply
Who has the stronger midfield?
reply
Physically speaking, France is stronger.
reply
It's true, but I think Spain is more talented as a whole.
reply
Penalty shootout is a lottery Netherlands never won
reply
True, the Netherlands is the eternal loser.
reply
Very unlucky and now superstition becomes a self fulfilling prophecy
reply
although I think they won some European Championship with the team of the Clockwork Orange

I always love to hear such fun facts like the one you mentioned with Mikel Merino! I was wondering what the celebration was about, the beauty of the game!
reply
To be honest, I was not sure either. But the radio stations started quite early to talk about it.
