Wouldn't the most likely scenario be that he's hidden himself from the leaderboard?
It's entirely possible for that to happen. You get on the leaderboard by creating or zapping "top" content.
My understanding is that "top" is defined by being in the top third of posts or comments.
If the content you created or zapped gets surpassed by other content, then it no longer qualifies as "top" and you no longer get rewards for it.

Sure! I thought you meant hiding only from the leaderboard. It's possible to hide your stats and consequently your position as well. But that's not the case with darthcoin.
