Mitchell just re-signed with the Cavs.
Trade season is more fun. I just don't like that each individual signing can't receive the focus it deserves because 5 minutes later there is a new one. Also you don't get the hype you get in baseball. Where will this guy sign, who are the potential suitors, when will he sign, for how much, how will that shake up the rest of the market? There is a bit of that prior to the opening night of FA in NBA but it's not the same.
In my opinion, NBA and NHL are like going to watch an action movie. It's fun for a couple hours and then it's time to go home. MLB free agency season is like going on vacation. It's not always action packed, there are down times but you can enjoy it for awhile.
It's a lot like the draft. All the speculation that's been building for months pays off in one event.
Would you like to see the draft drag out with one pick per day?
That might actually be really interesting.
reply
No I wouldn't like a month long draft but what I would like if they are going to do it this way is some kind of event like the draft where the signings can be all done but each team gets to go up to the podium and announce their main signing. That would actually be kind of interesting.

Now you're talking. It would be so fun and suspenseful if they had a room full of all the free agents and then they go up on stage and pick a hat or something when they sign.
reply
They should make it like the Royal Rumble in wrestling every 2 minutes a new guy joins the stage and you have no idea what team or player it will be. Then as the 2 minute clock reaches zero you see the logo of the team on the screen and the player walks out with that team's hat as they announce the deal.
Can make it 3 or 4 minutes between if they want to drag it out and more time for commentators to talk about the deal.
reply
They'd have to abduct Woj and Shams for the duration of the event, to keep them from completely ruining it.
reply
Leaks will definitely be a big problem.
