For anyone interested in my thought process re the Gas controversy:
In the article, it suggests that the rumor started in China. The first thought that went through my mind was "You can fake an IP address. Ohh!! it's the GOVERNMENT!! Shutting down these kids' ability to communicate anonymously!"
And then I'm like, "Why does it have to be the government? It could've been Mark Zuckerberg himself for all we know faking a rumor from China to shut down a competitive social media platform"...
(although it was likely someone at TikTok or Snapchat, the kids definitely do not use Facebook anymore)
