My daughter is getting all four of her wisdom teeth yanked today. Back when mine gave me problems they took out one at a time.
I've hyperdontia (having an extra teeth) in one side of my mouth. Initially, I had lot of problems (including severe pain) due to it. I went to a dentist who was also my class fellow from school. He recommended me to get rid of my extra tooth. But, I've listened so many stories from elderly people about weakening of eyesight after your teeth or tooth are taken out. I resisted the recommendation and looked for an alternative. It wasn't hard and soon I came up with a self prepared medicone.
You just need
  • 2 to 4 leaves of holy basil
  • 2 to 4 Apamarga leaves (prickly chaff flower)
  • One clove
chew them twice a day and let run on the pain area. You'll never need to visit a dentist.
I only use herbal tooth paste. In the morning I use toothbrush and before going to bed I massage my gums with finger.
My extra tooth has been there without any problem for more than 10 years now ..

I had all 4 wisdom teeth yanked on one visit. I was put on gas that knocked me out. When I came through, the dentist looked like he just spent a hard hour at the gym and said my wisdom teeth were unusually large and that they were difficult to remove. Next morning, my pillow was soaked in blood and my face had swollen to comical proportions. The swelling receded after about a week. Chances are that your daughter's experience will not be nearly as bad as mine.
reply
I don't think I'll share your experience with her!
reply
Lol. Wise move. My experience was probably the worst case scenario. I only realized how bad it was when other people were relating how they got their wisdom teeth removed and it was "no big deal".

When my last one got removed my mouth was numb from novacaine while the surgeon was removing it. Before the procedure I had signed a waiver explaining that there was a slight chance my jaw would break. Now, as he's working and I'm numb I hear a very loud crack, then he yells "oh shit!" I was positive he had broken my jaw. He hadn't, but he broke the tooth next to my wisdom tooth.
reply
So much for my "worst case scenario" premise. Those are not the sounds you want to hear while under the knife...or the pipe wrench in your case apparently.
reply
You definitely don't want to hear your surgeon say "oh shit"

I took one out few years ago and no pain at all, or let's say I didn't feel much pain, yet I kept hearing all those scary stories saying how painful it is. 🤯
reply
Mine never hurt either. Yet those crazy stories are still out there. When the oral surgeon removed my last one, though, he broke the tooth next to it! That was a mess.

Yet those crazy stories are still out there
not sure how many of these stories are real, and I don't understand why ppl share all these to make others scary, which is not really helping.
Even with my orthodontic,I didn't feel much pain too, life just goes on as usual.

Oh, I have had some real, genuine dental pain, but not from wisdom teeth. Once one of my teeth got knocked out during a touch football game, and the dentist started doing a root canal when the nerve was still alive! That pain was real.

I also had a really bad experience when I was a teen, and I think finding good dentist is the key!
I just told my dentists here that I will come to see you wherever you are as long as you are still being a dentist. 😂

Hope she won't cry. Take care.
reply
She's a young adult and will probably be chock full of Novocain or other stuff. That's why I'm driving her.
reply
All at once but one at a time I hope :)
reply
Now you have me thinking of some kind of four handed monster robot yanking them simultaneously.
