Developing a Gaming platform where you can battle others over Sats

Hi there,

I'm a few days from launching a project I've been working on which allows you to play games and compete for sats.

You can either play for free, or pay a sat entry fee, and get matched with another player who did the same. The player with the higher score wins a sat prize.

Of course, it's powered by the lightning network :)!

Curious to get people's early thoughts on this, and any tips you may have about marketing or getting the word out there.

This is exactly what I suggested a week or so ago on SN. Glad to read someone is actually doing it. I would love this!

Please make it multiplayer if possible, multiplayer snake would be awesome, or bomb-om, Pong, etc. Anything not heavily graphic intensive that allows players to battle eachother.

Maybe a lobby where you can join and wait for others to join against?

I would really like a snake game or a pong variant.

We started with multiplayer and quickly found out how hard it was. Plus there are other issues like players have to be online at the same time, and request a match at the same time.

It's definitely the vision we are working towards, and where I think most of the fun would be, but for now, we started with asynchronous games where you compete on score.

Set up a local gaming tournament, and offer sats of varying amounts for the top three players. Hell, you might be able to get something going on SN. ;)

Eh. Honestly speaking, none of these games look the least bit appealing. I would rather try my hand at streaming my gameplay on Twitch and requesting tips in sats.

Fair enough. It's pretty hard to make good games. Keep in mind this is v1. If people like the idea, we will try to partner with existing games that people like.

What game are you playing? Will you have a way for the free play mode to earn some sats as well like a daily lottery where they get tickets to win sats for time spent in game?

Right now they're just simple hypercasuals I built with some friends.

That's an interesting idea, I'd like to implement that soon after launching. The lottery can be funded from a small portion of the entry fees of the paid games. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thndr games do that you collect tickets in games and they are entry to win from the pool of sats each day

Ah yes, I've come across them.

With our platform (SAT BATTLE), it will be browser based (mobile browser compatible as well), so no app download required.

One of my goals is to create a platform that allows other game developers to monetize their games in a different way, without requiring ads. I'm hoping that starting with browsers will create less friction for first time users.
