Irony of the day:

A beggar approached him in the street and said:

• Help me, for God's sake, I have seven children!
• You may not have had them,- he replied sullenly.
• I would have liked to see you in my situation, - replied the beggar, adding, - and what else can we who are poor do but make children... for the rich?
• You are right, - he replied, - and for your philosophical thought, take this, - and he gave him a penny, which the good man went immediately to spend at the nearest tavern.
