A Chip off the Old Block
Happy Father's Day to all the SN Fathers and those that are celebrating today with their fathers as well.
Lineage is a big thing in sports. There have been countless sons that followed in their father's footsteps to play at the highest professional levels. So, I thought today being Father's Day, would be a great day to hear stackers favourite Father/Son combos.
My personal favourite is Ken Griffey Sr and Ken Griffey Jr. It's hard to beat a father/son duo that actually played together on the same team. I suppose we may see that again next season in the NBA if Lebron's son Bronny joins him on the Lakers.
So, who ya got? Shill me those Father/Son duos.
Sats for all, GR
p.s- wholesome fatherly moment I had the other day when I was showing my son our MLB survivor pool tracking sheet. He said "I think it's really cool you use grayruby as your username".

The Howe Family
The fact that all three of them were teammates is incredible: https://www.nhl.com/news/gordie-howe-s-sons-loved-being-his-teammate-280934332

I totally forgot they actually played together.
Good submission.

By far the best moment of my life when I became a father 7 months ago. Every single day I feel blessed. Unbelievable feeling which cannot be described in words.

Awesome. Congrats.

Not a team sport, but I've always thought Helio Gracie and his sons, and now grandsons and great grandsons are just awesome. Incredible legends through and through.

Legendary family.
Hope you are enjoying your Father's day.

Yes, just watching the Blue Jays while the little one puts on a concert with her ukulele and drum. Heading over to my parents place in a bit for a bbq.

Geoff Marsh, a former Australian cricketer and coach, saw both his sons, Shaun and Mitchell Marsh, represent Australia.
Mitch Marsh has been a huge success out of the three. Though the contributions from Geoff and Shaun are also praiseworthy.

I have the same favorite as you. Griffey Jr. was my favorite player and it was so cool that he actually played with his dad.
For some reason, I always love seeing Al Horford’s dad in the stands when they cut over to him.
reply
Always nice seeing former Raptor Dell Curry watching Steph.

I'm generally a sucker for seeing the players' parents, but there's something different about Tito Horford.
I think it's that Al has always seemed so old that you just don't expect to see his dad in the stands. Al's the one I'd expect to have an adult child, even though he's a pretty similar age to me.
His dad's also such a huge guy and it seems like he's always standing and cheering. The whole thing is just very endearing.
I also got a bit of a rush when they cut over to Tim Hardaway Sr. in the last game while his son was exploding during garbage time.

Yeah I love it when they show parents in the crowd. Especially when it is a young player maybe in their first game or playoffs and you can only imagine how much time, effort and struggle the player and parents have put in to get to this point. I can't imagine the joy they must feel to be able to watch their child achieve their dream and get to wear a jersey with their name on it.

A few of the duos I think about often:
Bobby and Barry bonds Bobby and Brett Hull Ed and Christian McCaffery The whole Manning family Antoine Winfield and Junior
As a kid I loved Ed McCaffery. I thought he made some incredible catches while taking some really hard hits.

Good submissions. Looking forward to seeing Luke McCaffery play as well, he is faster than Christian, I think he will be a steal of this draft.
