No, this is NOT an SMS service. No this does NOT allow sending BTC with a text.
In some countries there may be an SMS notification that you had made a transaction, but no -- Machankura uses USSD, a feature for phones that run on the GSM network and have USSD support (which is pretty much all GSM phones nowadays).
