So, do you think life was nasty, brutish, and short in 1905? That there were poor and starving people falling dead on every street corner?
Hardly.

I'm amazed every ancestor of mine was able to have a child that had a child and then there was me. Good work everyone. Thank you for your sacrifices.

There are several reasons why we can't party like it's 1905:
Social norms and expectations have changed drastically since 1905. Many of the behaviors and customs that were acceptable back then are no longer considered appropriate or socially acceptable in modern times.
Technology and advancements in medicine have greatly improved since 1905, making it easier for us to live longer and healthier lives. However, this means that we are also more aware of the consequences of our actions, such as the negative effects of excessive drinking and drug use.
Laws and regulations have become stricter, making it more difficult to engage in certain activities without facing legal consequences. For example, Prohibition in the United States was instituted in 1920, making it illegal to manufacture, sell, or transport alcohol.
The social and political climate of 1905 was very different from today's world. Issues such as inequality, discrimination, and environmental degradation were not as widely recognized or addressed during that time.
Overall, while partying like it's 1905 may sound like a fun idea in theory, the reality is that we live in a vastly different world today with different norms, expectations, and challenges that make it impossible to fully replicate the past.
Not all thoughts are meant to be what we think.
