Welp, just got laid off. Guess I'll be stacking a ton more sats than fiat. Sadly, only the latter pays the mortgage.
In Portugal, laid-off workers receive two-thirds of their take-home pay. How about where you live?

u can sell the house and that will pay for the vacation away from fiat. i am moving to a shoebox-sized rental next month, not working for fiat for a few months, and super excited. i may come back to fiat, maybe not. depends on the intensity and speed of learning.

That's not practical for us, given a bunch of factors (including health care and the cost of rent on even shoeboxes here).

anything u can give up, like subscriptions, items u don't really use, ice cream on sunday, skipping lunch, colder showers?
today for example, i skipped breakfast & lunch altogether. sounds brutal and inhumane until it's something routine. no muscle mass or strength lost, and belly is lighter, focus is clearer.
