I'm confused today. I want to cheer USA but I'm a tribe similar to @grayruby's so because of my love for my homeland can't root for a team that has won everyone's heart all of a sudden. Anyways, I've decided to cheer for both the teams because I found out that many of USA players were once Indians.
Yes, it's a match featuring common opponents today as India take on USA with the winner confirmed of a place in the Super Eights. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have played together with Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh. Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli were once teammates with Milind Kumar - one with Delhi and the other with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Axar Patel and Monank Patel were roommates during age-level tournaments in Gujarat. And today, all these players will be up against each other in an attempt to see their home team win and progress to the next phase of the tournament.

Another glorious day with hardly any cloud in the sky. We're playing on the same wicket as yesterday, the square boundaries are at 70m and 66m while the straight hit is at 72m. Pretty similar. bowlers will have to hit the hard lengths, batters can't really play the cross-batted shots. The bowlers will look to get the natural variation off a hard length and a back of the length. Chasing is the best way to go, IMO.

They lived up to the words by beating Pakistan who came their way. But they could be in for a serious reality check on Wednesday.
Up next will be India, who could be a different beast. Upsets in Twenty20 are commonplace but this Indian team looks virtually fail-proof. The US team, which has never faced India in any format, will be up against a side that is full of IPL and T20 veterans.

I think India can chase even 15 if a proper batsman is out there.
Also, both batsmen are set now so I don't think they will let it till the last over.
Even more so now they have been given a 5 point run penalty. It’s a shame as it’s taken the edge off the game now.
USA have been docked 5 penalty runs. They have gone past 60 seconds to start a new over 3 times in the innings. As per the new rules, that's a penalty
I think it’s really tough to get 15 on this wicket though. If it was in the West Indies then it might be easier.

USA team is a great story. Hard not to cheer for them but I don't think they will win this match.

Hypothetically very easy I would think. Some of the USA team are not full time paid cricketers and even those that are don’t earn huge amounts.
Having said that I don’t think USA would, simply because of their pride in what they have achieved so far.
I was at the famous England v Pakistan game at lords where they fixed parts of the match by bowling no balls so even the bigger teams can be targeted by match fixers. I hope now though that it’s much more difficult to do.
There was a great documentary in the UK about match fixing and they agree signals before a game so no mobile phones etc doesn’t matter. For example they would tap their right leg 3 times and then scratch their nose before bowling a no ball.

Lol, this isn't a league match. It's an international game played under the conditions of a lot of surveillance. You're not even allowed to use cellphones privately 24 hours before the games .

Quick question. The Indian fielder made a great jumping catch in front of the boundary. If he had not caught the ball and it bounced off his hand and over the boundary would it be a 6 or a 4?
