the best way to learn any language is problem-solving! I just realized that I know Turkish the best in food and fabric related topics 😂
Language learning is a fun and complex thing. It's also interesting to think that, for example, a lawyer and a engineer might speak the same language but have a complete different vocab set, based on their needs within the language.

and sometimes it makes you feel stupid when you can't even get some simple things done because you just don't know how to say it in their language (yet). 😂
a really humbling experience - when you think you know the best, try to survive and thrive in other cultures with a totally new language.

Well, but having some skin in the game is the best way to learn a language and integrate into a new culture. You either learn it or even the simplest things won't be available.
In the end, the way that exposing ourselves to new experiences improves us in brand new ways, and that really is something priceless.

and it definitely trains you to be more independent, because you are simply on your own and on one to cry to.
