Different subreddits can offer their own type of token. r/Cryptocurrency was the first to do this about a year ago with “Moons” (as I remember) and I think some other communities have followed.
It’s an evolution of karma but also getting into the monetization Reddit is trying to do with all the avatars (NFTs), paid features/plans and overall evolution of Reddit into odd directions.
